The main issue the project focuses on is reading comprehension in foreign languages and mother tongue and information processing in order to recognize true information from false one, to be able to critically analyse, interpret and assess it. Having this in mind we want to confirm operational capacity of recently developed teaching materials Intervention Program for the Development of Reading Literacy (IP) within the Erasmus+ project: IDEREC (2022-1-SK01-KA220-SCH-000085608), the basis for which was two previous national research projects (APVV and VEGA) within which we identified predictors for the development of reading literacy.

In the current project, we want to disseminate the knowledge acquired in the previous projects to WB and EaP regions and verify whether the IP materials are applicable and effective in these regions too. For this purpose, we will organize workshops and train lecturers who then will implement the IP for RC in English and German languages in their schools, and collect data about its functioning. This will contribute to both improvement of the teaching competences of FL teachers and the reading literacy of their learners, as in the involved regions they also have a problem with the development of the reading literacy and information recognition and processing by learners. The collected data will then be processed, presented at scientific events and published in journal papers. Furthermore, the good practices in FLs reading literacy can also be transferred into development of their mother tongue reading literacy.
